Today is the day!

Hey everyone (by that I mean my mom, who is the only one reading this so far),

We leave for England today. Our flight is at 6PM and we get in at 11AM their time. My bag is packed to the rafters so I hope it works out all right. Here are some photos of all the stuff I am packing. Shooshoo is the monkey. He will be accompanying me on the trip as far as Vietnam where I believe he will be reconnected with his family, whom he left five years ago to seek a better life.

Passports are in!

After weeks of worrying, our passports came in from the Mongolian Embassy. We had thought we would have to provide supporting documents such as train tickets and such so it was a pleasant surprise when they came in.

Welcome to what will surely be an incredibly detailed account of my journey, that is if I can remember to write. I will leave the reminding up to Austin. Anyway, as it stands, we have booked our flights to London and our passports our currently in Ottawa being processed for the Russian and Mongolian visas.

We fly out on New Years Eve, which will be interesting because this is the first new years in recollection that I've not been on the earth.
